Yes I did change my research question. My research NEW research question asks "what are the positive affects of media piracy on piraters? By changing up my question I made my research question more narrow. In the begging My question was "what are the positive and negative affects of piracy on society as a whole? This question was definitely to broad and could have been and was narrowed. I decided to change my question around because this way I have a question that focuses on one specific thing and not several different points. I also changed my question because now there can be two different views on this question. Any one could agree or disagree with what I'm trying to research. It is not just a one sided question. This renewed question will lesson my chance of having extra and unneeded information for my research. To answer my research question I would most likely stick with the internet and any articles that I can find on this topic. Photos and other visual aids, with the exception of statistical graphs, would do me no good. The reason is because see piracy on a photo or movie would not help my argument at all.
THE DEBATE:
The debate was very interesting. I can honestly say that I understood where both sides are coming from. However, I think I would agree more with UWG's perspective. UWG's perspective was that you should not choose to go to an HBCU because of the long-term affects, which are: loan debt, being most likely to default on your loan which in turn keeps you from getting a credit card, house, car, and most importantly a job, and being the last result when it comes to getting hired and when you do get a job there will be a decrease in wages. UWG also argued that what you learn at an HBCU you can also learn at a Non-HBCU and that African-American students make HBCU's it is not the other way around. I highly agree with every point that UWG mad e I have no disagreements with them whatsoever. On the other side you had Clark Atlanta college. Their argument was going to and HBCU school could help you with the following: learn about your own culture, and that you could possibly prevent black on black crime because HBCU'S teach how to love your brotherhood and sisterhood. I feel like Clark Atlanta should have came up with more reasons on why choosing and HBCU is better if you're an African american student. It seemed like Clark was not fully prepared like UWG was. UWG could answer ANY question that Clark threw at them but it doesn't seem like it was the other way around. I also want to point out that the conversation got a bit heated because you could clearly see who the winning side was early on in the debate. In my opinion as well as the rest of the school UWG won because they were prepared and you could see that they took the time to research everything they needed to debate.
The positive effects of piracy sounds like it could be more opinionated than research based. Because piracy is illegal, it may be hard to find people who speak up. At the same time you find a lot of people who speak out about legalizing marijuana, and not a lot of people talking about the benefits of murder. Will you be able to find reliable sources on this topic?

This will be a good topic to explore because alot of people would say that media piracy is a bad thing. So im excited to see what argument you will come up with. I think you would be able to find alot more info on negative than positive but overall a very good question.
